ABOUT JUDGE FISHER
Judge Emily Fisher was appointed to the 306th Judicial District Court on January 4, 2025 by Governor Greg Abbott. Prior to her appointment, Emily was the family associate judge for the Galveston County and a partner at Martin, Garza & Fisher, LLP in Galveston where she practiced family law for nearly 35 years. She is board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a member of the State Bar of Texas (SBOT), SBOT Family Law Section, Texas Bar College, and the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists. Emily also formerly served as a member of the Galveston County Mediation Association and is a former member and former vice president of the Galveston Family Law Bar Association. She is a graduate of Baylor University where she received her Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctorate.
Emily is active in the community and has served on various board positions with the Pregnancy Help Center, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Coastal Community Church. She and her husband have 2 children and enjoy spending their time with their 2 grandchildren.
